CardScan

Terms of Use

Effective October 23, 2026

These terms apply to the CardScan iPhone app, made by Andrew Stevens. By using the app you agree to them. If you got the app from the Apple App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies.

Using the app

CardScan reads business cards and email signatures and creates contacts from them. Text recognition is automatic and can make mistakes, so check important details before relying on them. You can review each contact before it is saved, or turn on automatic saving at your own discretion.

Your responsibilities

Only scan cards and signatures you are entitled to use, and handle the resulting contact information in line with the laws that apply to you. You are responsible for the Google, Microsoft and Apple accounts you connect, and for keeping your iPhone secure.

Third-party services

Saving to iCloud, Google or Microsoft accounts relies on those companies' services, which have their own terms. We are not responsible for their availability or for how they handle data once it reaches them.

Purchases

Any in-app purchase is processed by Apple under Apple's terms, including its refund policy.

No warranty

The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from use of the app.

Changes

These terms may be updated; the current version will always be on this page.
